upLVL, Inc., the Portland-based startup providing online training for the cannabis and hemp industries, announced today that Andy Shelley has agreed to join the company as Director of Compliance. In this role he will oversee the development of upLVL’s compliance curriculum focused on providing licensed cannabis companies with basic to advanced compliance training and regulatory updates. Andy brings 4+ years of experience in the Oregon cannabis market as a regulatory inspector and as a consultant. This will allow upLVL to bring Andy’s knowledge and experience to a broader audience through the company’s online learning platform.
Andy worked until 2017 as a Marijuana Inspector with the Oregon Liquor Control Commission. He then founded CannXperts, a company that focuses on providing compliance oversight for cannabis businesses. CannXperts manages over 130 cannabis licenses by providing licensing services, onsite compliance inspections and assistance with mergers and acquisitions of cannabis businesses. He has an extensive background in law enforcement and crime scene investigation and attended The National Forensic Academy at the University of Tennessee.

“upLVL is an exciting advance for the industry,” Andy said. “I’m looking forward to helping create online learning experiences that can be delivered more broadly and shared more efficiently with companies that need it.”
Andy also serves as Vice President of Farms, Inc; a non-profit organization that advocates and lobbies on behalf of cannabis farmers. Andy has worked at various levels of government and is a veteran of the United States Coast Guard.
